Montblanc Great Characters Homage To Queen Special Edition Ballpoint Pen_ 131967
In the rich history of rock music, few names have shone as consistently as Queen. With a career spanning over 50 years, the band is one of the most successful in history. During this period, Queen embodied the power of musical creativity, with many of their songs topping the charts for weeks on end. They combined hard rock, glam rock, pop, punk, and opera to create their own musical universe, blurring the boundaries of genre.
Inspired by their 1991 album Greatest Hits II, Montblanc commemorates one of Queen's most successful albums with the Great Characters Homage to Queen Special Edition. Reflecting the vibrant color palette of the double LP, Greatest Hits II, this edition is presented in deep blue with gold-plated fittings. The four musicians who created the sound of this legendary compilation have etched their names in history: the charismatic frontman Freddie Mercury, imbued with a multi-octave range and rich vibrato; Guitar virtuoso Brian May and his distinctive electric guitar sound, versatile and creative bassist John Deacon, and the band's rhythmic heart, Roger Taylor. Like symbols of their musical virtuosity that made their 1991 album one of the world's best-selling and most celebrated albums, "their tools" are subtly etched into the precious resin. The cap features a microphone and bass, while the barrel features a guitar and drum kit. The band's Greatest Hits II album boasts a diverse range of chart hits, from rock anthems to catchy pop songs. Examples include iconic tracks like "A Kind of Magic," classics like "Radio Ga Ga" and "The Show Must Go On," the exhilarating "I Want to Break Free," and the moving "Under Pressure," a collaboration with David Bowie.
Along with Freddie Mercury's voice, Brian May's masterful guitar playing was central to the band's unique sound. This writing instrument pays tribute to him and his virtuosity through the shape of its tip. Designed with the signature volume and tone control knobs of his famous electric guitar in mind, the cone features a delicate fluting pattern, a small red dot, and an engraving of the Greatest Hits II album release date.
The crown worn by Mercury during his final performance in God Save The Queen inspired the silhouette of the special edition cap top, metaphorically representing the band's majestic personality and musical legacy. The gold-plated clip is inspired by the microphone stand, a hallmark of Freddie Mercury's live performances.
