Established in 1985, Cloudy Bay was one of the first five wineries established in the Marlborough region of New Zealand. At the time, the region was not even considered a wine producing region, but Cloudy Bay founder David Honan was convinced of the potential of the Marlborough region and established the winery. Since then, Cloudy Bay has played a major role in bringing New Zealand wine to the world’s attention, not only in Marlborough but also in Central Otago.
